On 2-3 March 2023 the third Transnational Project Meeting planned within the framework of HECSOs took place in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The meeting was organised by Synthesis, a Cyprus’ leader research centre on social entrepreneurship and social innovation and partner of the HECSOs consortium. The meeting took place in the “Hub Nicosia,” a pioneering social innovation hub, managed by Synthesis, which houses and supports organizations, entrepreneurs and enterprises with social or environmental mission.
During the meeting we assessed PR1 progress/implementation status, in particular we finalised the multi case study data analysis report – Building knowledge on community engagement practices. We also plan future actions related to the production of toolkits, in particular we discussed how the toolkits will look like, the plan to finalise them (including division of tasks and responsibility among partners) and the process of validation of the toolkits. The partners detailed also the tasks and time planning related to PR2 as well as agreed on preparation deadlines and distribution of tasks for the Interim Report.
Partners had also the opportunity to meet the representative of University of Nicosia who gave a presentation regarding the community engagement initiatives of the university and brainstormed for future synergies with HECSOs project. Partners visited also some community engagement initiatives in Nicosia, in particular the Home for Cooperation (H4C), a unique community centre located in the middle of the dividing lines in Nicosia, in the Ledra Palace area, UN Buffer Zone. Through its programs, it encourages individuals and civil society actors to engage in intercultural dialogue and peacebuilding, benefiting from the power of artistic and cultural tools in transforming societies. It essentially aims to act as a bridge-builder between separated communities, memories and visions.
